Schizandra-Goji Lemonade Recipe

a refreshing drink that tonifies our three treasures

Schizandra is a remarkable tonic herb. Not only is it an adaptogen (which means that it helps our bodies to manage stress) but it also develops & protects the Three Treasures of Jing (our inherited constitution or essence), Qi (our day-to-day vitality or energy) and Shen (our spirit, presence or consciousness). It sharpens concentration, memory and alertness and is incredibly nourishing to the skin.

Because schizandra possesses all five flavors recognized by Traditional Chinese Medicine (sour, bitter, sweet, pungent and salty), it’s understood to hold the essence of the five elemental energies associated with them (wood, fire, earth, metal and water).

Goji berries support eye health and tonify our fluids, especially important in the heat of summer.
